What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser, which the browser sends back on later visits. Browser storage (localStorage) works similarly, except that it is never sent to the server. rafalrudko.com uses both, but only as described below.

What the website stores

Strictly necessary — no consent needed

Without these the website could not remember your choice or keep you signed in. The law does not require consent for them.

  • cookie-consent (browser storage, not a cookie) — remembers your choice in the cookie banner. It stays until you clear the site data in your browser.
  • homepage_at and homepage_rt (cookies from api.rafalrudko.com) — keep you signed in to your account. They appear only once you sign in; the first lasts 15 minutes, the second 30 days. They are removed when you log out and cannot be read by scripts on the page (httpOnly).

Statistics — only with consent

  • _ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics 4) — distinguish visitors, so I know how many people visit the website and what they read. They last up to 2 years. Set only after you click “Accept” in the banner; without consent Google Analytics is not loaded at all. They are removed when you withdraw consent.

Third-party services — only after you click

  • Sign-in with Google — Google's script is loaded only when you click “Continue with Google”. From then on Google may set its own cookies under the Google privacy policy.

The website uses no advertising cookies and embeds no videos, maps or social media buttons.

How to change your choice

  • Click “Cookie settings” in the footer at any time — the banner appears again and you can change your choice. Withdrawing consent removes the Google Analytics cookies.
  • You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings, or block them. Blocking the necessary ones makes signing in impossible.
